I know it can be daunting meeting someone new. Remember, you are an expert - you will always have something to teach me about you.

STEP 1 - getting to know you

My first priority when introduced to a potential new client or family is to get to know you, and to discuss your hopes in terms of working with me. I look at where, how or why difficulties may have started, so that we can work to break the cycle that makes those difficulties stick around. Understanding you and your goals will help us choose the most appropriate evidence-based treatment.

STEP 2 - TREATMENT plan

I apply an integrative, client-centred approach, and will draw on the specific treatment models that fit with your presenting difficulties and goals. I believe connection is paramount to positive change within psychology, and I believe in those models that take the whole person into consideration. Approaches can include Compassionate Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic, Family, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Brief psychodynamic, EMDR and attachment approaches.

Step 3 - the process

Together we will determine goals, as well as identifying what achieving these goals might look like. I will strive to meet your treatment needs in the most effective and efficient way possible, with the over-arching aim to provide you with a better understanding of your strengths and challenges and the tools to prevent challenges getting in the way of your wellbeing.
